This book is an extremely well-organized and easy-to-understand guide to all of the commonly used approaches to the facial skeleton for anyone in plastic surgery, otolaryngology, oral-maxillofacial surgery, or neurosurgery. It contains VERY clear diagrams and explanations. There are only so many approaches to access the skeleton. Thus, this book is not very thick. Compared to the limited amount of content, the price is steep. However, it will provide an extremely clear and conscience reference or refresher for any practicing surgeon that deals with the face.

This review is specifically in regards to the 3rd edition which was released in 2018. The text is still the same as the second ed., however, the photography is excellent and supplemental videos are invaluable. Must have book as a resident!

This book is probably the best text I've come across for learning neurosurgically relevant anatomy. Dr. Rhoton's primary research articles are also good resources for learning neuroanatomy, however it is nice to finally have a comprehensive compilation of much of his and his research fellow's anatomical work in one text. RIP Dr. Rhoton.

I use the Kindle Desktop App and the images cannot be zoomed in clearly. Distinctive anatomically features are not at all visible, making this kindle book useless if used with the desktop app. However, this is a software problem with Kindle Desktop. The book is otherwise an excellent resource! I ended up borrowing a hard copy from my library and was very impressed.

Detailed anatomical drawings showing layer by layer. This book was recommended by a world renowned dermatologist at a course I recently attended as a resource for safer injection practice. I purchased the e-book version as soon as I returned home from the course and was immediately able to read the book on my laptop.

The accompanying videos showing the use of injectables for deep fat pad enhancement using micro-cannulas has already been extremely valuable in my practice because better placement uses less product.

My only complaint was that I wish it were longer. I couldn't put it down and was sorry when I finished. I have reread sections and will continue to use this as a resource. I look forward to more from Lamb and Surek in the future.

Facial Volumization is a thoughtful and detailed facial anatomy book. The book has intricate illustrations that demonstrate the layers of the face in a systematic way from deep to superficial. Special attention is given to to the “spaces” and compartments that have previously been described but not well defined, complied and illustrated. The book is intended to be a supplement or roadmap for any facial volumizing injector that uses an anatomic based technique. Whether you are an experienced injector, novice injector or just interested in facial anatomy, this text provides a nice layered depiction of facial anatomy.
