Customer Reviews from Amazon :
Nice book!
This is a very nice comprehensive book of pediatric radiology. The book is split into 2 big volumes. The whole book is written by Dr. Wells, which is pretty amazing as I think it could not be easy to write all those pages. This book is as big as Caffey's pediatric radiology book. The good thing about this book, since it is written by one author, there is a consistent writing style. The book has citations so one could go back to the original literature for more detail.
The book is pretty well researched. For example, in the discussion on intussuception, the author talks about trapped intraperitoneal fluid and its importance as an indicator of greater likelihood of irreducibility. I smiled when I saw that because even though I trained at a very top notch pediatric radiology fellowship, I was not taught about or seen trapped intraperitoneal fluid. It wasn't until I became an attending that I encountered my first trapped fluid, and had no idea what I was seeing.
One con of the book is the short one paragraph discussion on MR enterography for Crohn's disease. At most academic children's hospital, MR enterography has basically replaced small bowel follow through and CT for assessment of Crohn's disease status.
Overall, the book is very readable, and I'm slowly digesting several pages each day.
