Perfect!
European style (from american authors) neurosurgical book about cranial base surgical approaches (extremely detailed) which is very helpful for everyone. Must be complemented reading Rothon's temporal bone. Visual depiction is flawless, picture size is appropriate, not IMAX :) but those who have even minimal surgical experience will find it useful.

Excellent resource
As a soon-to-be interventional pain fellow I need to be solid in my ability to read, understand, and interpret MRI imaging, especially of the spine. This book is providing that for me. I've just recently purchased it and have gone through a few chapters. It's easy to read and understand and is providing just the right amount of information. It nails down key points and common findings and simplifies the learning process in a step-like fashion. I like that the images are clear and that normal ones are compared to varying degrees of abnormal ones. It has definitely strengthened my ability to recognize MRI findings, especially the degenerative ones that are ubiquitous in the world of pain. I find that I pick up almost all, if not all, abnormalities that are written on the radiology report. I also like that I now understand when to use the different pulse sequences to help confirm different findings. Definitely an excellent resource and one that every pain doc or anyone who wants to have a better understanding of reading MRIs should be required to own. I'm really looking forward to going through the rest of the book.

Excellent Guide for Practice in the ED
This is a great book for those new to the field of pharmacy practice in the ED or those looking to improve their practice in the ED. It has made my transition into ED practice a much smoother one. By having read ahead of time about where errors in the ED tend to occur it was easier to anticipate where I could make interventions. Sections I have gone back to several times are the toxicology chapter and the quick reference tables in the appendix.

very useful in bedside teaching
I recommended this book because I found it is very useful in bedside teaching, for CR and fellow. It focus on something that are interesting only by colorectal surgeon /proctologist. Though it is not a textbook, I also recommended this for fellow/young attending. The book is writing by many authors, bibliography as listed in Amazon web. Anyway, the writing style is friendly reading. The cited references are up-to-date. And even the long term results were well collected. For example, the long term result of glue for anal fistula is not as good as initial report. For example, the BRAF/KRAS gene mutation related with CIMP. For example, the debate on surgical timing of sigmoid diverticulitis. But, this also makes it not a textbook level for junior residents, because they have no ideas of those trials/meta-analysis reports. They may miss in the tables or flow chart, without supervised. The only disadvantage that I could find are lacking of robotic surgery/single-port/NOTEs comments, lacking of anal fistula ligation introduction, lacking of colonoscopy screening policy changing since last year. Reading this book bring me a lot of fun.

Showing the fascinating complexity of Gait Analysis
A previous writers tries to tell us, that gait analysis with our own eyes and understanding is outdated in a high tech world. I disagree. As it is true for many steps in the process of finding the reasons of disorder and disfunction and working on solutions, as medical doctor or as physiotherapist, it is allways the core of real quality if one understands by himself and his education in the field, what some high tech apparatus tries to tell him, sometimes telling it wrong. So giving up all your knowledge and expertise into the hands of a computer, or even showing that you have no interest to get this knowledge in the first place, is a sure way to failure in the medical field. And by the way, gait analysis isnt some dry, boring stuff, in fact, it is fascinating to realize how very important it is to be able to identify the different stages of this very short moment, to find the fitting solution for your therapy. I am just a beginner after completing a first course in gait analysis lead by a german pupil of Jacquelin Perry, and as a doctor in a rehab clinic I can tell you, its very up to date. And talking about the high tech world, who is able to buy a technical system, the hard- and software for gait analysis, for example as a simple practitioner? Phelps is the most up to date book (2009) that brings together the previous years of scientific research and study on the structure and function of the human amygdala. Brain imaging, and work with non-human primates elucidate aspects of mechanisms of the amygdala in the detection of fear, the role of the ventromedial prefrontal cortex in modulating the amygdala, memory, the interplay of social interactions, and in neuropsychiatric disorders especially in autism and schizophrenia. fantastic introduction
I've given this 5 stars because I think it achieved what the authors set out to do which is a concise introduction to every major topic in spine. If you are looking for a detailed discussion of any one particular topic you will not find it here (though the suggested readings at the end of each chapter are very helpful). This is the perfect book for residents starting their junior spine rotation and wanting to develop a fluency in this discipline.

Neurosurgery review books at their best
This is a perfect example of works that matured over the years into a kind of a legend. It's an excellent review source for board exams and the FRCS(SN). Personally, I think it's a must have for neurosurgical residents and registrars. Having said that, I must say, this book is NOT "neurosurgery for dummies". It is only a review book designed to draw your attention to important points and emphasize its significance. It's not designed to cover all and everything you need to know!. PROS: 1) It is much more refined than the previous edition. 2) It is much more organised 3) Appears to Include Citow's other books under one cover. I don't recommend buying them if you buy this one. i.e. a) "Neuoradiology and neuropathology :a review" --> LINK : Neuropathology and Neuroradiology: A Review b) "Neuroanatomy and neuropysiology :A review" --> LINK :Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology: A Review CONS: 1) All in American units ... Any edition for the European market? 2) Errors in the book i.e some "RIGHT side" miraculously became "LEFT side" in the book. Beyond the valley of clinical skills
Recently completed a semester using this book as one of the primary texts while teaching a graduate course at Caldwell College entitled "Ethics and Professionalism for Behavior Analysts." Universally, my advanced level behavior analysis grad students all had wished that they had read this book earlier in their careers. They had nothing but praise for it. This text is highly recommended for behavior analysts who assert that their good clinical skills alone will propoel them towards success. They might find that there is a whole new set of skills they had not thought about before!

A great sports medicine book that approaches sports medicine conditions from a problem based approach. This is very useful as patients present with problems not diagnosis. Key information is easily accessible. I have found the layout easy to read and a great resource for a busy practice.

Great Arthrography Book!
I have not found an arthrography book that I thought was good. This book discusses everything you need to know for doing the arthrogram. The book also has lots of pictures with cross sectional anatomy. Great book!
