Use this all the time. Ours was a little old. This new edition has thicker pages so it is a little more durable.

Fantastic book!

This of course was a mandatory book for my class but I love it.
It breaks every aspect of med-surg down for the student.
The best part of this book is that there's a book code in the front cover and if you log in following the directions it links you straight to the book. There you can watch videos that explain everything, there's quizzes per chapter, and even NCLEX review questions. This book has been a major part of my success as a student nurse! I recommend teachers to consider using this book when assigning one for a semester!

A must-have

Incredible book; very readable and comprehensive and without a doubt a must have. I recommended the stroke chapter to anyone starting their journey in neurology. It is my go to reference with the added benefit of being engaging. It is extremely well written, which makes the absorbed material quite memorable. Essential for both the wards and the boards. Cannot recommend this book highly enough!

Outstanding new edition of a classic neurology text
I have been using this text for years because it has been consistently authoritative and up to date. There has been an invaluable section discussing all the broad categories of neurological problems followed by chapters with detailed descriptions of individual diseases. The current edition follows this organization but has been extensively revised to keep pace with the advances in neurology especially in therapies and clinical neuroscience. The other major change in this edition is greatly enhanced coverage of neuroimaging.

A great investment
This is an outstanding neurology text book; very complete and great to read. I own two of the previous editions and I am impressed with the improvements and updates of this 10th edition.

excellent atlas of epilepsy, uptodate, is a 2013 version so is very recent and good to review in detail most of the reg findings

I like it
13 chapters--one for each subspecialty area in Radiology, and Neuro is divided into Neuro/Spine/Head & Neck.
Each chapter has 30 or so high yield cases with classic pictures and good explanations, not too long or short.
I think it is a good book for Radiology residents of all years.

Comparing Four Texts for PA's, Med Students, Residents...
I was recently on a committee preparing an ACC report on textbooks for young or new Cardiology practitioners, and older autodidacts brushing up on the latest science for a career change or advance. As a technical editor and volunteer at preptorial dot org, I prepare the exam questions both for their free test banks, and the actual professional exams for credentialing and CME's/ CPE's.
The standards we used were completeness, readability, level, relevance to exams, digital/web resources and price/value. Out of 22 texts and books evaluated, 4 got 10 stars (the equivalent of Amazon's 5 stars):

Excellent Reference
This masterful textbook on field of cardiology is 2,600 pages in length, and covers almost every topic you would want to research. More importantly it recognizes that thousands of photographs and diagrams make the text explanations easier to understand. There are two other competing textbooks of comparable length and coverage in the field but their writing style seems far more complex and difficult reading. Dr. Chatterjee is an internationally renowned expert in the field and an excellent teacher. As you would expect from the recipient of the "Gifted Teacher Award" from the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Chatterjee's presentation on subjects is clear, well organized, and through.

Like other Case Files books: Awesome!

amazing study guide for psych! This was pretty much the only book I used for my rotation and it was definitely more than I needed. the cases are great, the explanations are clear and accurate. good breadth included.

So much like the shelf
I was amazed taking my shelf at how much the questions were like the case files questions. The practice questions really enable you to be able to distinguish between similar diagnoses. This was my main study tool but I also read through Blueprints. I found between the two, there were no real surprises on my exam. I also love the cart that is in the introduction with the drugs, their uses and side effects. I annotated the chart throughout my rotation and by the time I was done I felt that I had the psych drugs (which I hated during my first two years) mastered.

Very helpful
I'm a PMHNP student and these cases are a great way to review foundational knowledge. Theres an ipad app version that looks really neat, too. Next up are Stahl's case studies.

Updated and Fantastic

I am glad I held out for this new edition. There is a lot of new material in this edition, with the same fantastic format with summary boxes of the most important points. The pictures seem larger in this edition too. Extremely useful, practical and easy to read.

Excellent introduction to cytology
I am a second year pathology resident who is just starting cytology. I read through the gyn section of cibas before starting and my attendings were impressed with my knowledge base. The writing is very clear and the pictures are improved from the last edition. Cibas includes a chapter on lab management which contains helpful points for the RISE examination. Also, the online features use the new expert consult website, which I consider a positive.

The text in the field

I bought this as a gift for someone starting school for neurosciences. According to him, it has all you need as the basic text; which it appears to be for universities teaching neuroscience. He likes it, but then, he's a brain-iac.

Excellent Book Highly Recommend
This book is simply fabulous, the detail supplied in this book is well worth the money. Not to mention that its hardcover which makes it that much more impressive. Using it for my cognitive neuroscience class can't wait to read more into it. Highly Recommend this book.

I would highly recommend this title as a resource for the beginner to the experienced clinician. Great read and reference
This is a great resource for the novice to the experienced clinician. The information is set out in a clear and concise manner and is easy to reference. The chapters provide a detailed overview of the topic with great photos throughout the book. I would recommend this for daily clinical use but also as a required read for all therapists treating the upper extremity!

本套視聽教材能以繁體中文版呈現給各位，我由衷感到欣喜。2011年3月，日本東北地方遭逢前所未有的大地震與大海嘯侵襲，台灣立刻派遣搜救人員支援，並捐助了遠超過其他國家的救援物資與捐款，更表達對罹難者的哀悼之意，我以一介平民的身分由衷表達感謝，我們絕對不會忘記這份恩情。台灣與日本長久以來便有著深厚的歷史淵源與眾多文化交流，隨著此次本教材的繁體中文化，若能促進今後兩國在醫學倫理學及其相關教育等各方面能有更多元的交流，對我而言將是無比欣慰的美事。

　本系列於2004年開始企劃，隔年開始進行影像製作，前後耗時4年才終於完成。之所以會花費這麼長的時間，在此稍微分享一些製作上的秘辛。每個案例都會進行十次劇本修訂會議，每次必須間隔一週。而拍攝現場平均要花15小時才能拍出5分鐘正式劇情（有一半時間用在照明的設定及微調上）。演技也會反覆拍攝到滿意為止，之後再從以不同角度拍攝的眾多段落中選出最佳畫面加以串連，進行剪輯與調整。我們並沒有選擇將製作全盤委託影像業者。當然了，我們企劃、製作委員會在電影拍攝上是完全的門外漢，但是我們有著過去還是醫學系學生時，在文藝社團中累積的作品閱讀、創作與徹夜相互評論的經驗，以及身為醫療人員的經驗。在製作過程中的各個層面，面對導演及工作人員基於各自專業立場所展現的paternalism，彼此間的意見衝突多到數不清。在此說個秘密，我們從來不曾撤換過導演帶來的演員。就如同雅斯貝斯所說的「愛的爭鬥」一樣，我們便是在感性的衝突與融合中製作出這8篇戲劇案例。

　我們無意輕視知識教育在醫學倫理教育中的意義，但若只是要獲得知識，學生只要一個人在自己的房間內讀讀教科書就可以了。在講究實踐性的臨床倫理教育上，最重要的便是磨鍊自己的感受性與想像力以及與抱持不同見解或意見者對話的能力，這部分是難以透過自學習得的，而是必須與其他許多學生和老師共處於教室中，運用對話中蘊含的力量才可能學習到。此時，戲劇案例便是最佳的教材。因為著眼點及對於案例的看法會隨著觀看的人而有相當大的差異。即使在相同條件下觀看同一篇案例，也會出現各式各樣的意見。多去接觸自己一個人觀看時不會注意到、也完全不會想到的各種觀點及見解，可以讓學生們獲益良多。所以，切記不要急著引導出標準答案，一旦教師將答案縮小到只有一個，學生便會怯於自己去思考、感受，以及透過對話尋求不同意見。此系列中有些案例播放時間較長，這類案例也可以分成兩次播放。
