ECG interpretation for the clinical exercise physiologist

簡介(Book Description from Google):
ECG Interpretation for the Clinical Exercise Physiologist shows students how to accurately read and interpret ECG's. Moreover, because it's written for exercise science students, clinical exercise physiologists and exercise specialists, it enables them to tailor stress tests and cardiac rehabilitation programs to meet the needs of their patients. Beginning with an introduction to basic concepts and measurements, the book explores rhythm and atrioventricular blocks followed by discussions of such key topics as infarct, hypertrophy, axis, and conduction defects. The two authors, a clinical exercise physiologist and a cardiologist, offer an approach consistent with the ACSM's Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's). Rather than rote memorization, they emphasize real-world case studies and knowledge-building activities to deepen understanding.

Customer Reviews from Amazon:

極好Excellent book to review ECG interpretation for exercise physiologists
This is great book for EKG students. I would highly recommend this book. You will get an idea of all kind of EKG patterns.

極好Great Book
Found it very well-written, complete and easy to follow. The web materials were great. Highly recommend this book and website for anyone interested in learning EKG.

極好Forget Dubin
This book is so far ahead of Dubin...I am not a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, but I was told about this book and tried it. Some 12 lead issues that were a little fuzzy before became very clear after reading this. The rhythm section is also very good and the website that comes with it is great. Love it and would recomend it to anyone who really wants to learn EKG.

Descriptive psychopathology

簡介(Book Description from Google):
In order to accurately describe and diagnose psychiatric illness, practitioners require in-depth knowledge of the signs and symptoms of behavioral disorders. Descriptive Psychopathology" provides a broad review of the psychopathology of psychiatric illness, beyond the limitations of the DSM and ICD criteria. Beginning with a discussion of the background to psychiatric classification, the authors explore the problems and limitations of current diagnostic systems. The following chapters then present the principles of psychiatric examination and diagnosis, described with accompanying patient vignettes and summary tables, and related to different diagnostic concerns. A thought-provoking conclusion proposes a restructuring of psychiatric classification based on the psychopathology literature and its validating data. Written for psychiatry and neurology residents, as well as clinical psychologists, it is invaluable to anyone who accepts the responsibility for the care of patients with behavioral syndromes.

Customer Reviews from Amazon:

極好Masterwork of Contemporary Psychiatry
This is, quite simply, a masterwork. The life's work of Michael Alan Taylor, perhaps the grandmaster of modern empirical, descriptive psychiatry, finds its culmination in this profoundly clear, practical, and illuminating work. It provides a general overview of the approach to psychiatric examination before launching into a depthful overview of each of the individual examination domains. It eschews the esoterica that in parts dominate Sims' "Symptoms in the Mind" as well as the lamentable influence of DSM that has regrettably infiltrated the latest edition of that other masterwork of psychopathology in the English-language, Fish's "Clinical Psychopathology". This book is worth purchasing for the compendious bibliography alone. Professor Taylor appropriately dedicates this work to "the next generation", and one can only hope that the next generation of psychiatric trainees heed his call.

簡介(Book Description from Google):
Basic and Bedside Electrocardiography is the first book to integrate the basics of ECG interpretation with the most recent clinical guidelines for treating patients with ECG abnormalities. Each concise, bulleted chapter discusses a disease state, gives many tracings as examples, provides clear illustrations of pathophysiology, and offers guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of specific entities. More than 600 illustrations aid readers in recognizing commonly encountered ECG abnormalities. Diagrammatic illustrations at the end of most chapters summarize the different ECG abnormalities discussed, to help readers recognize the different arrhythmias more easily. 極好Simply one of the best books on this topic
This book is simple to understand without being simplistic. It has a good balance of anatomy, physiology and clinically pertinent information, that allows you to not only interpret, but to apply that information the next time you evaluate a patient. The illustrations are very useful, and there are lots of examples of actual ekgs. This is an excellent teaching tool for medical students,residents, cardiology fellows and practitioners alike. This book is comprehensive. You would not need to revert to another source in order to understand this topic!!

極好A must READ item
I have read several EKG books. This one is totally different. It gives excellent explanation on each specific tracing in a simple and easy to understand form. The illustrations are clear and precise. This book is good for not only students and residents but for cardiology fellows and all cardiologists.
